So yesterday night I stayed late to make up for my (ahem) slight distractedness at work earlier in the day. That meant I only had about 30-40 minutes at the gym, so I felt a little pressed for time. I started with 10 mins on the stair climber, which is always good andthen I was going to run for about 15 minutes on the treadmill....fast! At about a 9 minute mile pace (well, fast for me). but only about 5 minutes in, my knee started having familiar sharp twinges. Sigh....this leaves me wondering if I had better not run this weekend with Jess at the 5K; maybe just powerwalk because I will be very frustrated if I end up going all the way to Lehigh only to be sidelined (again!) by this injury. I will def. not run at all this week and will try to squeeze in some strengthening / injury prevention exercises from Physical Therapy every day. I will also try to go get my knee wrapped before I leave for Lehigh, or maybe at the expo. Either way I still plan to run the damn thing.
